Alibaba US Sales Tax Exemption Program (ASTEP) is a program that can easily help buyer identify themselves as an eligible tax-exempt buyer for US Sales Tax purposes.
Buyer may confirm participation in the ASTEP by visiting this new portal (Orders > Tax Information > Add or modify tax exemption/My Alibaba >My account > Tax Information) and providing buyer's relevant Sales Tax exempt documentation/information as appropriate. According to tax law requirements and changes, once Alibaba.com confirms the buyer as an eligible tax-exempt buyer, the future purchases eligible for exemption will not be subject to sales tax at check-out.
